Journeylevel Training

The AGC of St. Louis maintains joint apprenticeship committees with the basic trade unions; Carpenters, Cement Masons, Iron Workers, Construction Craft Laborers, and Operating Engineers. These committees are responsible for providing skilled construction workers through apprenticeship and training programs.

All of the above Joint Apprenticeship Training Programs provides Journey Level Training for their members. The Journey Level Classes are offered on an as needed basis to update and upgrade the skills of journey level workers. Some of the classes are offered for certification purposes, like the Certified Crane Operator class, OHSA ten-hour, MSHAW, First Aid and CPR. Most of the classes are offered during late afternoon or evening to accommodate individuals who are working in the field

Participation in Journey Level Training Classes has been encouraged by the competitive nucleus group to develop and maintain skills needed to keep the St. Louis region competitive. The encouragement and support of contractors for training is critical for these classes.

More information about the various trade specific journey level classes can be found by contacting
